Coming on the heels of Providenciales being named the #1 Island in the Caribbean and the #2 Island in the World in February by TripAdvisor, our wonderful island in the Caribbean has received yet more accolades and recognition.
Our very own Grace Bay Beach, right here in Turks and Caicos has been called a great family getaway by travelers looking for ways to escape the dreaded Polar Vortex.
Writer Eileen Ogintz notes that Grace Bay Beach is a better choice for families than the “rougher” waters of Hawaii.
Kids, she says, love the Sands Resort’s “lazy river”, and beach-front Hemingway’s restaurant, with famous conch fritters, chowder and empanadas, is also an island favorite. Other attractions when visiting the Turks and Caicos include a long barrier reef, bonefishing, and kiteboarding.
Toronto writer Corinne McDermott, writing for an audience dealing with this year’s “big chill” also recognized Grace Bay beach as one of the best beaches for families: the soft sand and gentle water makes (Grace Bay) ideal for little ones.
In January the Sands at Grace Bay received Expedia’s Top Partner Award for Turks & Caicos. The Sands Resort received this award earlier in February at the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association’s annual awards in Montego Bay.
