The Sands at Grace Bay has a Record Year

The Sands at Grace Bay set records in revenues and room nights in 2005, compared with 2004, according to General Manager Pierre Beswick. The oceanfront resort was up 13 per cent in both categories.

The momentum has carried through to this year, Beswick said. The resort, which appears to be headed for another record year, reported a four per cent increase for the first three months of 2006, compared with the same period in 2005.

The Sands at Grace Bay, an all-suite plantation-style resort, is located on six oceanfront acres on 12-mile Grace Bay Beach. The 114-unit resort features studios (with kitchenettes), one, two and three-bedroom apartments, ranging from 1,000 to 1,600 s.f. with full kitchens. Six three-story buildings are built around a lush garden courtyard with three free-form swimming pools.

Other amenities include Hemingway's Restaurant and Bar, which features a beautiful ocean view. It is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The resort also has a dive shop and tennis court.

All guests have complimentary use of the tennis court, bicycles and non-motorized water sports, including kayaks, wind surfing equipment, snorkel gear and Hobie cats.
