The Sands at Grace Bay, Announces Re-opening Post Hurricanes Irma and Maria

The Sands at Grace Bay is pleased to announce that it will be welcoming guests post Hurricanes Irma and Maria with its re-opening set for this Saturday, September 30th, 2017. Likewise, Hemingway’s Bar & Restaurant at The Sands will be re-opening on the same date. Located on Providenciales, the resort’s entire staff has been busy at work clearing debris and any fixing cosmetic damages caused by the storms to ensure that all is ready to go for the official re-opening date.

While the two hurricanes caused much damage to the many of the surrounding islands as well as to parts of several residential, non-tourist parts of Providenciales, Grace Bay Beach was spared of incurring the brunt of these storms, thus, The Sands at Grace Bay did not suffer any structural damage. None of the resort’s recently remodeled 114 studio- and suite-style accommodations were impacted and all are fully functional with electrical power, A/C, water, and Wi-Fi to provide guests with plush comfort throughout their stay. The island’s airport is open and actively receiving flights. Ships have been arriving to the island since just after Hurricane Irma to deliver all commodities needed and grocery stores are open and re-stocked. Many other area resorts and restaurants are also open or opening in the coming week to cater to the guests and to ensure the continued success of the island’s tourism sector.

“We are thrilled to share the news with our past and prospective guests, and our travel partners that we are re-opening our doors this coming Saturday,” said Mona Beeson, General Manager of The Sands at Grace Bay. “We understand that there has been some confusion in the marketplace as to the level of damages the area has sustained. Rest assured that we would not be opening if we were not 100% certain that we will be providing our guests with our full range of amenities and the very best in customer service that we are known for.

“Guests will also be pleased to know that Grace Bay Beach, acclaimed as of the world’s best and most award-clad beaches, remains just as spectacular as ever,” continued Beeson. “In fact, waves from the storms broke at the reef and actually brushed more sand upon the island’s shores in this area giving us an even more expansive beach. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Turks and Caicos’ Grace Bay Beach.”

In addition to offering some of the most affordable rates along Provo’s world-famous Grace Bay Beach, guests of The Sands at Grace Bay also benefit from the following free resort amenities during their stay: three free-form swimming pools; complimentary use of watersports equipment – including kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, snorkel gear and Hobie Cats; bicycles for nearby island exploration; a weekly Manager’s cocktail party; a tennis/basketball court, and many other exclusive offerings. The resort’s spacious studio and suite accommodations are equipped with all the comforts of home with most suite units featuring modern kitchens and appliances, dining and living room areas, screened-in balconies, washer & dryers, free Wi-Fi and more.

Part of the celebrated Hartling Group of resorts located on Providenciales in Turks and Caicos, the re-opening of The Sands at Grace Bay coincides with the re-opening of its sister properties The Palms located on Grace Bay Beach and The Shore Club, situated on Long Bay Beach.
